Watsonville Wedding | Lori+Frank

As my camera and I whisked silently through the crowd, the sound of sweet “I love you’s” filled the air. The day was filled with love.

Lori and Frank were married in an intimate Sunset Beach wedding among close friends and family at Sunset Beach.

Friends and family gathered first at the reception site, where the bride was greeted with hugs, kisses, and well wishes. I was so lucky to be at the right place at the right time when the groom arrived... I captured the bride and groom’s first look on their wedding day…

From the reception area, the guests were directed to the ceremony site at the beach. It was a nice walk down a quiet road, and up a small hill. Once the groom and guests made their way to the beach, it was the bride’s turn.

Chasing blue jays

We were 8 years old when we would chase blue jays around the campus while her mom and my sister studied nursing together. I would beg my sister to bring me with her to school so I could play with my new friend. Who would have known back then that would be the beginning of a lifelong friendship, which I am so grateful to have. From chasing blue jays to our hearts content, to sitting at my bedside for hours on end when I was hospitalized for two months, miles and miles away... She's always been there.

It must be baby season.

She had been trying to set up family portraits since Christmas, but at that time my schedule was already jam-packed with holiday portrait sessions. It wasn’t until after the New Year that we were able to make it happen, and it was well worth the wait. The sun shined and the ocean sparkled, providing the ideal back drop for Carmel beach portraits.

Many months later, she texted me for another shoot, but this time of her baby bump! What a lovely surprise that was!

Her 2 youngest joined Mom and soon-to-arrive baby brother. So cute!

Itsy, I can’t wait to meet Maikel when he arrives!!!

It's all worth it.

As I attempt to balance work, home, family, football schedules, and the business, I'm usually pretty careful with scheduling shoots. Somehow on this day, I guess I wasn't so careful because I managed to schedule 4 shoots back to back. Surprisingly, it wasn't overwhelming for me, the day went smooth, and I had fun.

Christina and her family were the third session of the day, and I'm so glad they made the hour-long drive to meet me for photos. Her kiddos were naturals in front of the camera.

After seeing the final product from a full day of photographing then spending countless hours editing at the computer, I can truly say it was all worth it.

Football season has arrived.

The boys played hard today. It's gonna be an exciting season.

This is Nina.

And nope, she's not our dog.

We were bbq’ing at the park when she came running out of nowhere, chasing after the kids' football. Her name is Nina and she turned out to be the sweetest thing. After chatting with Nina’s really nice owners, I learned a lot about Boxers and now more than ever I hope to find a Boxer with a red bow under the Christmas tree in December…

I won’t hold my breath.
